At Le Grand Domaine, our wines are shaped by two distinct spirits. Grand Vin de Stellenbosch is our traditionalist - serious, refined and deeply rooted in place. The Pledge is our adventurer - curious, instinctive and unafraid to challenge convention.
The Grand Vin de Stellenbosch label makes a simple promise: Every grape comes from Stellenbosch.
Here, mountain, ocean, climate, altitude, aspect and soil converge to create a terroir unlike any other. It is this extraordinary diversity that allows Stellenbosch to produce wines with both power and elegance, while capturing the character of individual vineyards and wards.

The Pledge gives me the freedom to seek out exceptional parcels across the Coastal region — to explore vineyards, discover remarkable fruit and uncover possibilities beyond the expected. It is a winemaker’s playground, where boundaries are there to be tested.
Every vintage presents a new opportunity to experiment with vineyard selection, winemaking techniques, maturation and blending. The goal is not simply to follow tradition, but to question it — to discover just how far we can take the character and potential of the fruit.
The name The Pledge represents my commitment as Cellarmaster of Le Grand Domaine: A promise that every bottle will offer something distinctive, memorable and worth discovering.
